Or, given that that would be an allergy that inconveniences the abled majority, suddenly allergies can go fuck themselves—am I getting that right? Just asking.

You wouldn’t complain to Uber if a driver left you in the side of the road in winter, literally drove away from you, because of your perfume? Or because you have a baby stroller, and the stroller can scuff up their car that they need for work? Mhm....

Now, imagine all of that, okay....except you’re actually disabled and this is an act of discrimination. You are being denied your rights and left on the road in winter because you are disabled, and this has happened multiple times. You’re stranded.

Imagine if almost every Uber driver were allergic to you. Imagine being stranded repeatedly. At least perfume is something you can wash off. We can’t wash off our disabilities, we can’t wash off the tools we need to get around. Try to understand what that might be like.

if you can’t accommodate all riders, abled or otherwise, you need to find a different line of work where people do not literally count on you to get where they need to be going. glad this person lost their job, discrimination has no place in our society

Uhh idk lots about uber, is there any way to have your describtion say sth like "driver is allergic to ___"/"___ not allowed"? Bc if so i dont get why they didnt write anything there,, if not i wouldnt become an uber driver if i wasnt okay with animals or some smells
-
Lol realistically I think Uber should have an option for drivers to input their allergies, and passengers to input allergens that they may carry on them This way, people with pets won’t get in their car (I have cat hair on me even when my cat isn’t there)

The fucking ridiculous part of this whole "severe dog allergy" thing is that THE ADA EXPLICITELY SAYS that allergies and fear of dogs are NOT valid/legal excuses to deny service to disabled people with service dogs.
-
I understand the fear part, but what if someone has a severe allergy that makes them unable to interact with a service dog? I know people whose allergies are bad enough that they trigger an asthma attack and cause them to stop breathing. 1/

more like: ur Uber driver arrives at ur place & says "Sorry, I can't take u because ur perfume is really strong, I don't want it to linger in the leather" & drives off, never mentions an allergy. will ppl assume that he's prob allergic & if u wear perfume u can't expect service?

Yes!! Exactly!!
