I grew up with my mom telling me it was the "healthiest" part of the bread and that's why I should eat it. The great noble lie of all parents.
I remember that one. Even when I was 5, that one made no sense.
My son requests a PB&J just about every. single. day. I have turned the end inside out, so from the outside it doesn't look different. He's almost caught on a couple of times. I'd be BESIDE myself if someone did that to me.

Told my kids I was an aberration because I put milk in my cereal, pretty much only because I couldn’t handle the mess they would make learning to eat cereal with milk.
That is some genius-level parenting right there. Wish I'd had the thought to tell my kids the same. Instead, I'm cleaning up milk dribbles all over the kitchen, every damn morning.
