In fact, more independents actually view the *Democrats* as a threat to democracy.

Getting rid of the legislative filibuster is a threat to democracy. Stacking the Supreme Court is a threat to Democracy. Using lawfare to go after political enemies is a threat to Democracy. There are an awful lot of threats to Democracy floating around these days.
