    Astonishing revelations in this week's update: * the EA were not "consulted", as Red claimed, merely informed * four waste loads rejected * the EA are "now actively auditing the supply chain of waste to the site" * Odour above annoyance levels *48%* of the time on Galingale View

    The Environment Agency has now said it hadn’t been in consultation on the recommencement of works at Walleys Quarry landfill in Newcastle. The weekly update from the regulator says it was ‘informed of their decision’.

    And the truth turned out to be that Kate Bingham did offer her time and talents in service of the public good, and the cv that was published with the announcement of her appointment made it clear what experience and skills - all omitted from the sneer here - she had for that role

    A very honourable admission of mistaken judgement, but he was far from the only person firing off in ignorance on this subject - there’s a long list of opinionated people who revealed how little insight and value their commentary added, however many clicks it brought them

    Watching , C4’s tense & gripping documentary on the UK’s vaccine programme, & I feel so ashamed that I ever presumed to fire off an indignant tweet against Kate Bingham - the woman who saved Britain.
