Ordinary people already struggling to put food on the table shouldn’t have to finance a green transition. It’s corporate executives who fucked the planet - they should pay the cost. Got a lot of love for Caroline Lucas, but today AOC has really shown how it’s done.

I might put my masters dissertation on EU trade policy with Africa on Amazon and sell it as an ebook for £10. The least these ridiculous people can do is pay for an excellent holiday 🏝🏖😂

My degree and masters were at UCL, neither was as remotely challenging as my doctorate. Don’t let this ignorant nonsense undermine the excellent work of diligent students at Royal Holloway. It’s a fantastic institution.

This while absurd brouhaha about 's thesis methodology makes it even more obvious that basically no-one outside academia understands what academics actually do -- even people who have undergraduate degrees. (1/4)

5 months ahead of release. My particular thanks to alt-centrist obsessives - no, they aren't a sophisticated guerilla marketing tactic. They are real. Available for pre-order here:

This guy has a history that borders on cyber-stalking. Totally normal behaviour that is entirely acceptable to ‘sensible’ centrists.

Triangulated with semi-structured interviews. Methodologically robust! I don't really get the 'gotcha' either. "You didn't cite everything you've ever written" is bizarre to say the least One useful consequence is that anyone jumping on it is not to be taken remotely seriously.

Peak alt-centrist conspiracy theory. I’ll be writing a thorough response defending my research method and situating it, and my findings, within the scholarly literature. That’s the best way to deal with baseless innuendo and insinuation. After all, that’s all these people have.

We live in an age of weird conspiracy theories. Obama's place of birth, Liz Warren's DNA and - for a small clique in the UK - my PhD. They said it didn't exist. Or that it wasn't any good. Or that I had something to hide. So here it is.

This is why I accept the Brexit vote. I want a soft Brexit - negotiated by Labour - which unites enough of the country to move forward and break the impasse. Then we can get on with creating, and building consent for, the most progressive immigration policy in the world.

Many Iranians coming to Western Europe as undocumented migrants are doing so through Serbia, which Iran had visa free travel with until late last year. The EU pressured Belgrade to break the agreement. ‘Freedom of movement’ in Europe is freedom - effectively - for white people.

Let's do a deal. The British government invents a time machine so it doesn't steal Iranian oil for 50 years, remove their democratically elected Prime Minister in 1953, prop up a king and impose decades of sanctions. Once that's done we can talk about refusing Iranian refugees.

Conflate the Israeli regime with jews everywhere and you rightly get called an antisemite. Conflate the Iranian regime with Iranians and you're just a centrist

"Why would a refugee come to the UK from France, its perfectly fine there" Here is a video of the 'Jungle' in Calais - where undocumented migrants converged. It was torched by the French authorities.

In 1942, despite immense suffering domestically, Iran accepted more than 100,000 Polish refugees. There were welcomed across the country. Remember that as a few dozen Iranians cross the English Channel and our politicians label it a 'national crisis'.
