Society allows humor on all sorts of tragedies, the Holocaust, etc. No single group is so holy they are exempt. Who would want to be the target of humor? not me, either. But that's the nature of humor. We all laugh at the inappropriate.

Was there a funny story from Newtown that we didn't hear?
-
Hm. I don't recall any. But my point isn't that tragedy MUST be the target of humor, but that all topics or open to it. Big difference. It's not mandatory, just possible.
-
I don’t see your point since she answered a bad joke with a better one

-
...she joked about a sexual assault that he was involved in...that was traumatic to the victim...yet she told a joke about it...I think that's the point...
-
Then why to try to lecture her?
-
Who lectured? She, however, was claiming untouchable status on moral grounds, coupled with obvious, vulgar, simplistic insult. No wit. I don't see comedy and puritanism as compatible. So, No 'lecture' - I made a few subtler jokes in the battle of wits.Humor punctures such vanity

And while you’re at it young lady, learn to take a joke. That’s all he was saying from what I could hear. Go to cheer practice, practice the flute, date, get in some shots while you’re at it. Don’t be soooo serious so soon. Yes, you lost friends
sorry. L I V E.

The world is dumber as a result of this tweet.

People used to drag teens for being useless and partying and all that—now that kids are making a difference, we’re like “no no, go smoke weed and dance in the rain, child, because your activism scares me!”
-
The Parkland kids are great! But black kids made a huge difference during the civil rights movement in the 60's and the anti-apartheid movement of the 80's.
#historymatters -
It doesn’t have to be one or the other. We can be proud today that we have kids following in the footsteps of the kids who fought for civil rights!
-
I think Judy would agree with you. I think she’s saying that there were major teens in the Civil and anti apartheid movement and parkland aren’t the first.
-
Yes. Cindi, look at what I was responding to before jumping to conclusions.

So well said. Another example of a Parkland student having their act way more together than people who are supposed to know how to behave like grown-ups. Please keep speaking up and speaking out. We need your leadership.
-
More together than a comedian on stage doin a bit? Dudes a comedian. Another example of ppl being offended just like Louis said in his act lol. Not sure how old you are but cmon. Looking at children for leadership?
-
