    As for me, work has been insanely busy so I haven't gotten much time, but I'm trying to clean up the most critical engine issues. Part of the reason I've been working on the build system tooling is because I still don't have a Windows build, and obviously that has to change.

    Waiting is the hard part, we know, but it’s almost done. The official release of Transport Fever 2 on Mac will happen early 2021. However, beta testing starts this coming Tuesday, the 15th of December. We created a Steam group for dedicated feedback:

  7. The wait is almost over! If you're looking to play as soon as it's available, here's a map with global release timings. For PC and Stadia players, the release is simultaneous and scheduled for midnight GMT, and for all console players – midnight local time.

    Weird engine quirk of the week, for the technically minded: there's an LZ77 compressor inside the rendering engine. Not kidding. :) Just don't ask me to explain why.

    Here's a screenshot from my development world. It's much less posed than usual, and contains a few assets that aren't fully ready yet. This is where I test the computers. 3 different CPU architectures with unique personalities, but the same operating system.

    I've been trying to finalize the shaders, so we can stabilize the art. Most of the work is pretty utilitarian, but I've gotten a chance to write a few neat ones. Shown here, gems, and retro-reflective targets in the background.

    For October, some Jack'o'lanterns sitting on wet ground. Weather-dynamic shading is pretty neat, even if the weather system itself isn't done yet.
