100% agree. There should be MUCH more focus on basic primary education. If this isn't right, then tertiary education won't fix anything.
It seems that the investment in higher education has been at the expense of basic education - a very dangerous trade-off in the opinion of the #ACDP. While fees are a major barrier to higher education - they are not the greatest barrier - poor quality primary schooling is.
