Passionate article. Question. Do you think, with apparently 80% of S.A. identifying as Christian (a number I don't really believe, but anyway) and the ACDP having such a tiny vote, that Christians in SA really see them as a sort-of representative for their views?

The evident lack of electoral support among Christians speaks to their professed faith not informing their vote over other voting priorities - keeping X party out (strategic vote), rewarding Y party (historical vote), etc. Its not a rejection of ACDP, rather it's wrong priority.

Fair enough. Although, I might argue that it's the "wrong" priority. I've actually voted for you guys several times (but for strategic reasons, ironically. Also I liked your economic policies.) It may also be that a lot of churches are uncomfortable with a political-faith mix.

No not at all. I'm critiquing what the ACDP is calling a wrong priority. The last thing I, and I think many Christians in S.A. want, is a South African Republican situation.

Amidst the myriad of voting options that Christian voters see, our mission remains for Christians to see it as their duty to honour God and the Bible with their vote, to elect leaders of integrity so that our land and it's people can be healed.

Sure, there are those who may make a variety of comparisons with both US parties, & likely others like CDU, DUP, etc, & then draw all sorts of conclusions, which may impact their domestic vote to a greater or lesser extent. All SA parties then too.

Would it be fair if I rephrased that as, “Sure, our leader is on the record supporting the leaders of, say, US parties, justifying all sorts of conclusions that impact domestic voter behavior to a greater or lesser extent”?
