      We do not support the WC Education Dept (WCED) draft policy on gender identity & sexual orientation in public schools, being promoted by the DA. Today we will picket outside WC Provincial Parliament & hand over a memorandum to senior WCED officials. *Time:*  10h30 am till 12pm

      Even for those not using the Bible as a reference point, questions can be asked concerning experimental social engineering, and the possibility of unintended consequences. The core objectives of protecting personal dignity might be reached in less dramatic fashion.

      I take your point. But this is not exactly a curriculum change. I also what logical basis you have for asserting that it will not confuse children. As a parent, that is not how I would see it.

      You seem to underestimate or ignore the ability of teachers and adults generally, to mislead young kids.

          Oh we understand. I grew up in apartheid schools where we where mislead by teachers using religion as justification for hate. We understand it all too well! And you want to take us back there

          Maybe both sides could listen a little more, and hear the underlying concerns of the other. Quick escalation is not a great approach to the formulation of public policy.
