On the positive side,
#ACDP is encouraged that SA scientists are working on producing a locally made vaccine and/or cure for#COVID19inSA. This must be encouraged whilst ensuring that all necessary health testing regimens are adhered to -@RevMeshoe .MP https://cutt.ly/YyAjFVn1 reply 1 retweet 0 likesShow this thread -
2. We welcome opening up the economy, which will see some 8million SA'ns returning to work. Hopefully the projected 3million upper limit of jobs lost due to
#LockdownSA will not materialize. -@RevMeshoe .MP https://cutt.ly/YyAjFVn1 reply 1 retweet 0 likesShow this thread -
3. We welcome the removing of
#COVID19inSA exercise time restrictions and the abolishing of the curfew, as these were nonsensical in any case. -@RevMeshoe .MP https://cutt.ly/YyAjFVn1 reply 0 retweets 0 likesShow this thread -
4. And we commend the President for keeping to the start time of his address. We trust that this discipline will continue for future Presidential addresses. -

But. We are disappointed that churches & other religious groups will still not be allowed to meet.
@PresidencyZA Ramaphosa missed a golden opportunity to reassure the church and the religious sector, that Govt is not at odds with them. -@RevMeshoe .MP https://cutt.ly/YyAjFVn2 replies 1 retweet 3 likesShow this thread -
The Premier of Gauteng, Mr Makhura said: there is no reason why churches should not be open under alert level 3; its unfair to disallow the church from fulfilling its mandate; the distribution of food parcels has been politicized; Regs hindering churches must change.

The President failed to assure parents, learners, educators & unions that when schools open, the PPE's needed will be provided to all schools to minimize infections. It would have satisfied concerns & fears while showing that government is taking their health & safety seriously.

We fail to see how the resumption in the sale of alcohol with its numerous negative consequences, will help curb the spread of #Covid19SA infections. Instead it can act as a catalyst to infections and negate many of the gains made.
