    Trim can give your home have curb appeal. It can also make your home look worn. You have to maintain the material with caulking and painting. If trim isn't maintained, moisture can damage wood material and cause damage you may not see.

    Termites! The word makes a homeowner cringe. Damage can be minimal or it can jeopardize the structure. You should have the damage evaluated and possibly preform a treatment. Once they find a new food source you may never see them again.

    Plumbing helps control the way your home deals with water. Drainage gets the excess water away. Plumbing only work as well as it's installed. Improper connections prevent the system from working as intended and can cause you headaches.

    Wavy roofs can be caused by a number of issues. Most common is inadequate sheathing thickness. Over time the wood begins to sag from weight & environmental conditions. The only good way to correct the roof exterior is by replacing the sheathing.

    Indoor fires are great! -but require maintenance to operate safely. Flues need swept and fire box should be sealed. When bricks are loose there is potential for embers jumping through openings which can cause a house fire.

    Cracks in foundations are commonly seen. What varies is how they are repaired. You can see there were tubes inserted in the crack and epoxy was injected through these tubes. This type of repair is what you like to see.

    Just looks like a ceiling fan but it's a safety issue. What the photo doesn't show is how close the fan is at the loft area. Fan was installed at a height where a person cut get hit and possibly cause injuries.

    Every home has a soil pipe to allow waste out of the home. The hole where the pipe exits the home can allow water in if not properly sealed. Foundation openings should be sealed at the pipe.

    Chimney damage is usually easy to see from the exterior of a home. There could be a dangerous situation in your attic you don't know about. The failing structure's weight could fall crashing through the ceilingpossibly hurting someone.

    Guttering downspouts should be installed in a way where water doesn't cross a walking surface. During freezing temperatures you could have a personal ice rink and a fall could occur.

    You shouldn't have cracks or gaps in the firebox. Small sparks can jump through openings causing fires. Cracking visible in firebox on sides can indicate the chimney is pulling away. Issues similar to this can become major concerns.

    Water is essential. How you get water into your home is important too. Galvanized pipe can clog and cause low water pressure. Shut off valves control the water entry and need to operate correctly without leaking.
