Presently listening to an audiobook of “SANDAKAN” by Paul Ham. Truly the saddest tale of human suffering by Australians I’ve heard. May they all Rest In Peace.
#Onthisday in 1945 the second series of Sandakan death marches began from Sandakan to Ranau. Of the 2,500 Australian and British prisoners of war, only six Australians survived these “death marches”. Read more: http://ow.ly/NR6Q50zMcts
