The USG used to hold the position that cryptography was a munition and therefore exporting it could be regulated. Arguably that would mean that it's already covered by the 2nd amendment...

Totally agree. But if we are going to add rights to the Constitution, shouldn't we also add a right to life-saving health care?

4th amendment covers this. Cryptography is the only defense citizens have against unreasonable search and seizure online. Can’t outlaw walls on houses either.
