Climate change is worsening the occurrence of flash floods in U.S. cities, and big-ass stretches of asphalt like this worsen climate change 🔁 Reduce asphalt = reduce car dependency Increase affordable, compact urbanism that supports ped/bike/transit = increase sustainability

This is an absolute nightmare. I’m not even sure there’s a way emergency services will be able to reach any of these people by car as the road is impassable. @DenverChannel

Someone needs to put together a very readable explainer about all these household subsidies. Like, written for your Boomer parents, not for someone who reads Vox/The Atlantic.

Republicans are saying these are auditors. They are not. This includes technology staff and customer service. Also, this is over 10 years. Many of these workers will be replacing retiring workers. The IRS workforce is old. The IRS will not have 87,000 new auditors at any point. twitter.com/DougAndres/sta…

You saw it, folks. Maybe they thought it was midnight and you wouldn’t notice. Republicans just torpedoed the insulin price cap. All we needed was ten of them to stand with us for consumers instead of for Pharma — but no.

Yes. And probably doesn’t even happen if those with presidential ambitions didn’t feel compelled to suck up to the billionaire class.

Says something about the political priorities of Sinema who, while representing a state facing enormous drought-driven decline in water supplies, appears willing to threaten most significant fed action ever against climate change to protect wealthy hedge fund managers-again. twitter.com/LisaDNews/stat…
I have a vision for Georgia where prosperity is measured by more than how well business is doing. We need to judge our economy by how many families can thrive, not just survive. Join me Tuesday as I lay out my vision on how Georgians can rise. RSVP: staceyabrams.com/gathriveslive

I followed debacle of Trump Admin’s family separation policy as it unfolded. This article pieces together all the bits of bureaucratic bumbling into densely reported saga of incompetence, apathy, & evil.Despite my familiarity with much of the story, I sat stunned after reading.

In this astonishing investigation, Caitlin Dickerson (@itscaitlinhd) lays out in damning detail the secret history of Donald Trump's family-separation policy. It is most definitely worth your time: theatlantic.com/magazine/archi

sinema’s open contempt for her voters and brazen devotion to private equity is kind of breathtaking, even by the standards of the senate
Quote Tweet
I’m told that Sinema is feeling positive about a Thune amendment that would carve out private equity subsidiaries from the 15% corporate minimum tax. Manchin doesn’t want it in the bill, kicking off discussions between him, Thune and Sinema on changes

It is impossible to claim that full-blown, anti-democracy nutcases such as Kari Lake are out of the Republican mainstream when the Republican mainstream embraces her as one of its own.

As co-chairman of the Republican Governors Association, our organization is already active on the airwaves supporting Kari Lake’s candidacy. Congratulations to Kari on a hard-fought victory and to all the candidates who will be carrying the GOP banner in November. 3/

IMO Gonzalo Pineda should continue to play a Almada-Sosa-Moreno midfield. Yes, it's a bit risky with two 10s, but I'd argue Almada's ball security and awareness in possession actually helps solidify that area.

It’s a shame I’ve yet to see a replay that truly shows this shot from directly behind it, which is where our seats were. The knuckle action on it was incredible.

Thiago Almada is extremely good at soccer. The short-term goal of the next Atlanta United president should be to build something around him to give him the best chance at a big money move to Europe.

Overall, I've thought the consensus was overworried about recession & underworried about inflation. This report is consistent w/ that. Is nice to see this many jobs added but it is scary about what it means for the size of the adjustment we may have coming. Not the sweet spot.
