Anyone who votes not to convict is not only complicit in the cover-up but is also responsible for defiling our Constitution, democracy, and the rule of law.

"The Government Accountability Office recently found that such withholding was illegal. And federal law prohibits U.S. political campaigns from taking a 'contribution or donation of money or anything of value' from foreign entities." Trump broke the law.

Good to look at the response to this thread to understand what Trump supporters think, their talking points & how Republicans have spun all this. It's apparently all the fault of the House Democrats. Nothing on the Republican majority in the Senate...who failed to call a witness.

The vast majority of deported migrants tracked by after being sent back to El Salvador were murdered. A few have survived only to be raped or tortured. Here’s proof that our government is sending people to certain death.

Incredible documentation here. "No government, UN agency, or nongovernmental organization has systematically monitored what happens to deported persons once back in El Salvador. This report begins to fill that gap."

US asylum laws are so narrow that since 2013 the authorities have deported at least 138 Salvadorans to their death & at least 70 to face torture, sexual assault, beatings & extortion by gangs & Salvadorian security forces

Good for Doug Jones. History will remember him kindly. He disposed of Roy Moore, and stood up to Trump's wrongdoing, all in the face of difficult politics at home.

Doug Jones of Alabama has the toughest Senate fight of any incumbent this year, and he’s voting to convict despite there not being close to enough votes for conviction. This is what character looks like. This is a U.S. Senator doing their job with integrity.

Not at all surprised by Doug Jones' decision to convict Trump. He was a heroic civil rights lawyer. He actually cares about justice. He believed Christine Blasey Ford and voted "no" on Kavanaugh. Nobody is perfect but Jones will be treated well by history.

If you are angry about someone ripping up a piece of paper but not about someone ripping health care away from disabled people and ripping migrant children away from their families, you need to ask yourself why and adjust accordingly. ✌

“People always say that I didn't give up my seat because I was tired, but that isn't true. I was not tired physically ... No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in.”- Rosa Parks Today we celebrate the 107th birthday of the Mother of the Civil Rights Movement 🕊️

Rosa Parks, born in 1913, was an American civil rights activist who refused to give up her seat on the bus as an act of resistance to segregation. She reminds us of the importance of speaking up for inequalities and rejecting racism.

The State of the Union is hurting because of the occupant of the White House, who consistently demonstrates contempt for the American people, contempt for Congress & contempt for our constitution. I cannot in good conscience attend tonight's sham
