RIGHT? I just don't understand. We are so busy arguing if it exists/it's a hoax/if masks work that we can't argue about the very best ways to combat the virus so life can go on.

I don’t think some people are realizing the gravity of a deadly, global pandemic. Rather they refuse to.

According to my math, approximately 1 in every 2209 Americans has died from COVID-19. I'm tracking to see exactly how low that second number has to go before a majority of the Inconvenienced Ones actually give a shit.

Pretty sure they'd have to step over piles of bodies before they'd acknowledge the problem

American selfishness will be the reason why the virus will be a prominent feature of life for the forseeable future. We wont solve this until it is a catastrophe of epic proportions.

Andy- I think you're great & agree w you 99% of the time, but plenty of business owners, workers, parents of kids w no schools, cancer patients w treatment disrupted etc..who think it more than an a inconvenience. There is a trade off, tho in end best 4 everyone is 2 get past virus
-
Financial support can be provided by the federal government, as can universal childcare (which school is not). Cancer patients will not have treatment interrupted. And the only way to “move past” COVID is to distribute a vaccine. Until then, we can either suffer, or lock down.

We need laws so this kind of entitled behavior has real consequences, including prosecuting the churches. Thread: https://twitter.com/sfchronicle/status/1287411470989287424?s=21 …https://twitter.com/sfchronicle/status/1287411470989287424 …
