I was just about to mention that as well. Thank god there were people there who had her back.

I'm also very happy with the men who stand up for her.

Men his age too. That is great.

They might remember life in Iran before 1979.

Not only that, also count the number of men who stepped forward in her defense too. Looks like progress is being made
-
If you remember what Iran was like before 1979 or have even seen pictures, you know that it was a progressive, secular, modern and industrialized Pro-Western nation until the revolution. Then it went from bikinis to burkhas and back to darker ages, thanks to fundamentalists.
-
Well I was born in 79 :) but I've seen pictures. It's saddening to see the regression and how 40 years later, with internet, globalisation and all that, things still didn't get back on track. I just hope it doesn't take another 40.

"Fix your hijab, we have many martyrs" He just threatened to kill her and add her to the list of martyrs while pointing out many have died already!
-
Although he has no right to force that woman to wear her hijab, but by saying “we’ve many martyrs” He is clearly pointing towards the incident of karbala and the sacrifice of hijab by the women of karbala.
-
Karbala has nothing to do with what he was saying. Hijab is your choice, its not compulsory
-
It surely hasn’t. But that person’s statement “we’ve martyrs” that I specifically discernd is ultimately pointing out that way and not to the point that he’s going to kill her. As, the other fellow perceived it that way.
-
Perhaps, but he also said "I won't let you go!" That implies physical force.
