Remember, it were the Hindus who gladly accepted the passing of the Hindu Code Bills in 1955 that took away their rights to practice personal law. Am sure Mr Ansari and proponents of the right to practice personal law wouldn't mind the BJP tearing up the Hindu Code Bills. Wait.

So
@rahulroushan was right. Different rules for different religions. Apparently, the judges demanded proof that women aren't allowed inside all mosques, this even as Nisa, a Muslim NGO, is petitioning the SC demanding entry of Muslim women in all mosques.https://swarajyamag.com/insta/days-after-sabarimala-verdict-kerala-hc-throws-out-petition-for-equal-access-to-mosques-for-muslim-women … -
Attack on
@PoojaPrasanna4 and others at#Sabarimala is condemnable . The Supreme Court judgment MUST be respected. Peaceful dissent is one thing - and it is every Indian's democratic right - but such hooliganism is TOTALLY unacceptable. Right to protest is NOT right to prevent.pic.twitter.com/qkfuFsmoOc -
Distressing. Hope sense prevails and it doesn't come to this but I echo the underlying sentiment. The SC judgment is sacrosanct; it MUST be followed till such time it is overturned. This land CANNOT be run on anything other than the law of the land.https://twitter.com/Swamy39/status/1052398162688774144 …

Disagree here. Obscurantism is a term quite inappropriate in the context given that one is talking of Faith to begin with, and second, at least to me, the plea against perceived discrimination was logical, discerning, and accepted thus by one SC judge.https://twitter.com/Swamy39/status/1052389172206546945 …

No one but no one is above the law of the land. One must respect it till such time it ceases to exist. Unequal application of law or unequal adherence to a court order, can never be a valid excuse to violate either the law or the order. Right to protest is not right to prevent.

One can disobey a ban without infringing on the rights of others; but how can one disobey an un-ban without infringing on the rights of others? Violate a law if you are ready to face the consequences. But you can't violate someone else's right to follow the same law. Not fair.

This is some incredible writing by
@abhijitmajumder. Not a word in excess, not one out of place. The immediacy has been captured to perfection; as though they are not sentences but the tappings for dispatching a telegram. Journalism like it used to be.https://www.mynation.com/views/sabarimala-hindu-south-india-women-entry-menstruation-ayyappa-celibacy-pgqle8 … -
Notwithstanding my disagreements with
@RahulEaswar on almost everything - from his views on Homosexuality to his wanting Che Guevara to be anointed a role model for Indian youth - I condemn his arrest, the manner of it, and the denial of bail. Release him immediately,@CMOKerala. -

Till that time I will reserve my praise - certainly comments like ‘frightfully brilliant’ - have seen bigger men turn meek when it comes to reforming Islam & Christianity.Reforming Hinduism w/o logic should not earn badge like super liberal etc-it has to be uniform.
-
His comments on house arrest of Maoists on the other hand certainly horrified me-through his comments on recent judgements I can collectively derive that he seems to be a hardcore left biased liberal & it’s pretty dangerous if such person is in upper echelon of judiciary.

The real test for SC is if they find a provision which passes essentiality test for religion, but goes against one of the fundamental rights. Then Shirur mutt principle will fail &we will be back in 1954 square one. Until then get away using ET as legitimizing tool for a judgment

Let me tell you there's a fair chance he'll chicken out. Social structures cannot be dealt with by Technology? Luddite gibberish

Why are you bringing in unrelated issues here. Sabarimala is a special case. It is totally unreasonable to compare it with what Church practices or circumcision! Here it is not a question of purity of women/discriminating against them! It is because the Devata is a Sannyasi..

Also the issue of women prayer leaders in mosques. He won’t have the guts to say anything about male circumcision. In the West they’ve chickened out of it, preferring to reference dubious studies about how it has great prophylactic value (but FGM doesn’t!).

I would opine that Justice Chandrachud is mistaken. Social reality can change with new interface of technology. And Aadhar was a basic initiative. I am sure that no tech initiatives will be possible after this.

It's a simple logic Sir. Adjudication only depends on facts, truth and logic if anything is missing than it becomes non sense and irrelevant or feminism.

Railways, television have done much more to change social reality than pontifications of any judge.
