This is such a toxic discourse. You are not doing anything other than stuffing your face and having a pint. Your framing gives the impression that older, disabled, pregnant, black, and other vulnerable people who are more at risk are not doing their bit. Be more self aware.

This is why I'm increasingly coming to the view that retaining a capitalist economy in a pandemic is itself directly an act of violence against marginalised people.

I think the guy is overboard in his tweet but, overall don't you think it's a bit of a privileged position to be telling people *not* to go to restaurants, bars etc when a great many people's livelihoods are reliant on us doing exactly that

Its complicated. The government shouldn't be putting these people in this position imo. The situation demands a radical response such as universal basic income so disabled and other COVID vulnerable people arent pitted against people working in the service sector.

Something tells me you would like to get rid of a capitalist economy without a pandemic. I fear for a society run by people like you, where individual choices and fun is frowned on, even stamped on. Where a central authority controls what you can do and what you can have.
