The most successful people are the people who care the most about being successful. They want it more, that's it. Everyone claims they want to be successful, few people are driven to want it above all else (which may not be healthy/balanced in terms of the rest of their lives).

Plenty of unsuccessful people that do all of those too. The one you missed were "happened to be in the right place at the right time", "knew the right people" and "had a lucky break".
