I don’t want to be associated with all the racists and xenophobes posting here. But I do wonder what the activists think is the answer. Should a country take in everyone who makes it to shore? Does the risk taker have more of a right to come in than the person who stays at home?

1. Yes, let everyone in. 1,600 people, or even 10x that, would be nothing to the EU or US. 2. Fix conditions overseas so people don't *have* to leave their homes. This is the part nobody talks about, since it would require Capitalism to stop exploiting the global south.
