In 2021, you’d think we’d be past the “only plant male trees” advice. Maybe consult a botanist on the environmental effects of only planting male trees at scale?
What are the environment effects of planting anything at scale? One thing is for sure: planting male trees is much better for the environment than planting no trees. That being said, you do have to be mindful of the pollen and allergies/asthma with males.
We have a female. It’s over 100 years old. I can’t bring myself to even think about cutting it down, so we just have learned to manage the barf berries better when they fall.
