There's no real reason for this. No reason for mergers and acquisitions and no reason for splitting a company. Well no reason other than profits.

The reasons in the article. The financial wing of the company nearly dragged the rest of it down. They can keep profitable components safe from other portions failing like this. None of these companies will compete either as theyre all in different fields.
