EVs will be well above 50 % of new vehicle sales by the end of decade regardless of any incentives. Whether those EVs are going to be sold by GM, Ford, and Chrysler is, of course, another thing entirely.

Since EV makers will make big profits on this new market, they should be happy to jointly sponsor a big chunk of the charging network required. Price some of that share into retail price if justified.

EVs have very thin margins, if any. That's why government infrastructure investment is needed, since it's a loss making enterprise.
