New York CIty mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa was stopped when tried to bring a cat into the polling place. Sliwa had to leave the feline outside while he cast his ballot. The Republican candidate lost the race to Democrat Eric Adams.http://apne.ws/kOcOGE1

The entire article is actually really funny, in addition to the cat argument, they also argued about his jacket and then his ballot got jammed.

I remember Curtis Sliwa created that neighborhood citizen crime watch group in New York City in the 1980s and it spread across the country. No police department in the country liked it, including the New York City Police Department, because it put civilians at risk.
