"Controlled burning" - a traditional practice, long used to clear out dead wood & grasses and to promote fresh growth? Like many traditional practices, subsequently prevented by modern day "know alls" at huge financial & environmental cost. Good news this tradition is coming back

For millenia, indigenous ppl have fought
w/ fire. Modern scientific methods have ignored the wisdom of the elders, to their own peril.
Techniques that ancient cultures used, like cleaning forest undergrowth w
, were long ago outlawed bybthe U.S. Forest Service.
