You do realize that every molecule gives off a distinct light signal and we can just point a camera at an atmosphere and measure which gases are in it, right?

That seams suspect? Most of the world was shut down most of 2020 so what is the cause of this then?

Capitalism, mostly the energy production sector (the fossil fuel industry). 100 companies are responsible for over 70% of emissions so as we were “shut down”… nothing much changed in terms of emissions. Another big chunk is farming and meat production.
