No vaccine is 100% effective, but vaccines including those for Covid, flu, etc, can make a difference in how our immune system fights and recover. Wishing him well and speedy recovery.

So true! I got the mumps when I was 7, I had the MMR vaccine, but I got a breakthrough infection. I'm alive because I had the vaccine. When the virus is an RNA, there will always be breakthrough infections, the vaccine is the difference between surviving or dying.
