"We are afraid of the vaccine." "My body can’t handle it.” "Who will help my family if I cannot work?” Gambian women explain their fears and concerns about getting the coronavirus vaccine. Across Africa, just 4 percent of people are vaccinated. http://apne.ws/urONXPk pic.twitter.com/FiLAtJuzSd

4% vax'd on the entire continent ? Good Lord. Who will help your family if you can't work? the equation that the vaccine would somehow give you the inability to work is quite something. If one gets covid and dies, one would permanently be unable to work.

I understand their concerns. It’s a difficult decision to make when you are sole caregiver and provider for your family. There’s no one there to take your place if you get sick from either the virus or vaccine. Trying to make the best decision is difficult

I don't understand it. And it's not a difficult decision. Maybe a slight tenderness at the injection spot, maybe feeling a little lethargic the next day... or death/long-term health effects.

Africans have serious trust issues and their collective history and current living conditions attest to that. Remember colonisation and neo-colonialism are real concepts. In Africa we are not concerned about dying from COVID, we have serious issues like poverty and malnutrition

Let’s not talk about the correlation between western medicines and increased “new diseases” in Africa. Despite all the “concerns” from Western media, Africa has had the least impact.pic.twitter.com/mFyHkx1JdT

You have a lot more faith in their "reported cases". I bet it's vastly higher than reported. Do you not understand that if we don't beat it would wide, we never will?
