Seems like maybe there is a correlation between the abuse and these groups being involved? See recent history with Catholic Church.

As someone in Scouting, this makes me happy. Religion doesn’t need to be part of scouting. Being a good person and experiencing the outdoors doesn’t need a religious slant. Also, The Catholic Church being upset about being sued for sexual misconduct is so ironic.

Why does it have religious links? That is disgraceful.

It was precisely the language "To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law" That turned us away from enrolling our son in the Scouts. They REQUIRE you to say this, and it's insulting to those who don't ascribe to magic sky people

I’m agnostic and a scout leader. There should be no reason you can’t find a troop that sees a separation between religion and scouting. Scouting is best when religion is removed.
