Haven't sequoias evolved to resist forest fires? Their bark is fire resistant. I believe they have survived countless forest fires for millennia.

Fire resistant isn't the same as fire proof. They're still made of wood and will burn in a hot enough wildfire when conditions are dry enough.

Nice that they saved the famous trees... But every single tree burned makes the climate emergency worse. Now is the time to act to prevent climate change from getting worse - who knows - they may not be able to save these famous trees in the next wildfire
