For what? That people will get smart enough not to choose to live where they will get hit by a hurricane every few years. It is sad, but a reoccurring problem. Pray for the brains to figure out how to not let it happen again.

Oh man and it’s HOT AND HUMID down there. You can’t escape it without AC.

Isn't a "money pit" a home that you keep pouring money into that continues to be destroyed over and over from the same cause?

Maybe they look at it as free remodeling. I would and do live somewhere else. And I know many good people who would help a family relocate. They love where they live to it makes it worth getting gutted every few years, for them. I feel for the children, who have no choice

America has grown fat & soft. I grew up with no AC & summers ranging from 95°-105°F & +90% humidity. Now it is a news story? Louisiana needs help for a lot of things by reprieve from the heat isn't one of them.

I did, too, and it was freaking miserable. Old people died. Just cause we did it, doesn’t mean a whole new generation should have to suffer like that. Especially when A/C is a more common thing now as well as other technologies
