The water protection build by the Dutch worked fantastic and prevended a lot of damage and lifes. but still having power lines above ground is just stupid. start building it underground ! the protection saved more costs then it cost to build it also elsewhere
I went 21 days without power or heat after hurricane Sandy. It sucks.
And yet we'll still spend billions of dollars to rebuild everything in the same location - in a place that seems to be a magnet for hurricanes, not to mention being four feet BELOW sea level! Have we learned nothing?

The city flooded, power is out and the 911 system is offline. That is I call a FAIL.
