it gets them on the scene and aware a lot faster- gonna be hard pressed to see any departments abandoning the technology.

Except it doesn't do that. If anything, it tells them there's a gun related incident when there is none, setting the cops on edge when they show up to something routine.

If it works, then pattern analyze location data and place cameras/sensors/etc. to enable further improvements...or try something else. There is non-technical approaches to violence reduction...like gardening and community-building...
