Afghan President Ashraf Ghani slipped out of his country in the same way he had led it in recent years: a lonely and isolated figure. “God will hold him accountable,” said Abdullah Abdullah, Ghani's longtime political rival.http://apne.ws/493sjMp

God? It should be us, and here. Don't wait till heaven for justice.

Asking God to do the heavy lifting is reckless apathy and gives them no reason to feel bad about what happened. The term “God willing “ is the biggest cop out of all time.

It’s been the problem for 20 yrs! Corrupt govt, corrupt military leadership! Afghanistan fell in 9 days because the PEOPLE trust the Taliban more than the Western model!

The people don't have much choice either way, the US forced their way in at gunpoint, the Taliban are coming back at gunpoint. Best most Afghans can hope for is survival.

"As he campaigned for the presidency in 2014, Ghani was taking an anger management course. It seemed to have faltered as multiple tribal elders in meetings with the president have spoken of his verbal lashings." Maybe abandoning the ship was part of the anger management.
