It's tragic, and the region is going to be a mess again soon. That said, the USA cannot remain there forever, unless they want to simply take it over. At a certain point, it has to stand on it's own.

Hey, if it was only $2T and 20 years to train the Afghanistan military to hold the country for 48 hours, then by my calculations it will only be $5Q and 18 millennia to train them to hold the country for a generation.
