Which part? The statue honoring men who fought AGAINST the US? A memorial for a teenager who feel victim to the racism that helped erect that statue? Or how hard it is to remove something that never should have been, but was allowed because of white supremacy?

These statues are meant to honor those who represent our values, or memorialize victims of tragedies. Of course the community must figure out who they want to represent them. But so far it's clear that we do not value anyone who fought to preserve the atrocity of slavery.
