There are millions of oil and gas wells that have been abandoned in the U.S. Many are quietly leaking toxic chemicals into the air and water.http://apne.ws/2QIDcHm

It was explained to me by a former Exxon employee that it’s a lot cheaper to pay fines than cap them. And there’s the problem.

I bet the leaking transmission cases of ICE vehicles exceeds the oil well leaks of which you speak. And, it is further spread…just look at parking lot surface deposits.

The pipeline could have kept everything moving. To bad political clowns got in the way

This article is referring to equipment left behind at dry oil wells. Their is nothing to move, its just a bunch of useless pipes that are seeping chemicals. I don't care about any political stuff. Big oil literally left their trash in your backyard.

What? You think they don't know exactly where all the abandoned wells are and how many there is?

You don’t really need to worry about trace levels of benzene in your sunblock, or minute amounts of metals in your food. But if the public ever woke up and looked at the total amount of chemicals they consume in their drinking water, they’d be shocked.

Who are these oil and gas well companies? They should not be allowed to drill any new wells until they have properly capped their old ones. Abandoned? I think not. Exhausted their supply would be a better statement
