Once you initially purchase the product, it should be within your rights to do what you wish – *especially* if you’re maintaining it. Right-to-repair is a must in order to prevent companies from exploiting consumers.

People seemed confused by this. This wouldn’t necessarily make it easier, the parts would just need to be made available by the manufacturer. They can still make it hard.

republican farmers are going to be on board with this too. The right to repair is good overall but republican senators and representatives are going to push against because they're paid by those same corporations.

But the phone companies will then make the technology obsolete. Like Fitbit changes their old devices so they don't auto sync with their app after so many years so you feel inclined to get another one. Or it doesn't update anymore.

You can repair them but you can't get one like that one nokia that would last you like 10 years like a tank.
