Why? Bears in its natural habitat. Campers know the risk. Saw the bear earlier too and elected to stay. Killing the bear does nothing but hurt the animal who did nothing

once a bear thinks it found a new food source (i.e. people in tents) it will come back for more

Sit the exception of one tiger in India, there's no actual evidence that predators change their view of us as food. We ARE food to them, and the risk to is doesn't change either direction if they've killed one person before.
