The condo tower collapse in Surfside, Florida, could exacerbate the division that already exists between the residents of the Miami-area town’s new luxury buildings and those who live in ones built decades ago for the middle class.http://apne.ws/lMa0z0w

They'd rather have empty expensive condos for rich people than full cheap Condos for middle class / poor. Makes no sense. Federal tax incentives might help but I doubt it.

Bullocks. This is a totally ridiculous article about hypotheticals that no one was concerned about except for the writer and editor and publication because it isn't real.

Having lived in CA beach cities, it’s much the same here. Older homes & apt/condos are being demolished & high end buildings are taking their place. Only the rich get to live in oceanfront properties.

"At least 46 people were killed and more than 90 remain missing." Seriously? "missing"? Almost inarguably the vast majority were instantaneously killed. Is there a sound reason why the media is continuing to slowly accrue a ghastly confirmed body count?

Because it was just this last week they found some alive on the list and duplicate names.

I’ll tell you a secret - there has always been a division between the rich and the middle class.

They shouldn't be building these huge condos that close to the beach to begin with. It's just asking for trouble. Man will never outwit, outplay or outlast Mother Nature.
