Agreed. So let’s stop making this same mistake over and over America

The US public is no longer willing to prop up dysfunctional countries as we become more dysfunctional by the day. We can't pretend to advocate democracy when nearly half our lawmakers want to tear it down here.

Same thing in Libya and Yemen. However, the US and it’s western puppet governments did not learn from their mistakes and now working hard to destabilize Horn of Africa.

We cannot force other countries to become democracies without their intention to do so. It’s a lesson we haven’t learned since World War II ended. We have wasted money, lives and national honor in places we had no business being.

Does the Afghani people have absolutely no responsibility to stem extremism themselves? If the Taliban & Al Qaeda are returning in overwhelming numbers, there's cultural undercurrent officials in that country did not remedy or even consider. And the real question is why.

Our former presidents have also failed our own country. I’m not sure when it went wrong, but we have gone horribly astray. To paraphrase Duke Ellington, we keep trying to demand respect when we cannot command respect. If we want to change the world, we should do it at home first.
