This. Was reading an article the other day on the declining birthrate in the US. It's for the best. That's why I don't have kids. What are they going to enjoy?, freeways crowded with angry drivers, inflated inflation with crap minimum wage, crowded parks...if they can get in?

I wish they had tried that when I was a kid growing up in the Smoky Mountains. There were times when you could hardly move on some of the bigger roads, as they were clogged with tourists. Fortunately we were so far back in the hollers, we didn't see much of it. Sometimes.

Better plan 4-6 months out to go on the spontaneous hike. This permit system has been used on whitewater rivers for years. While it reduces crowds, but also makes it almost impossible for folks to get out.

Hawaii is overrun ....every beach is packed every trail is packed residents can’t find a parking space to even shop for food. No parking spaces at the beach and traffic everywhere.
