The problem is, in America, there is no good system in place to replace them and the gov can't figure it out because they're inept or unwilling. I've been on both medicaid and Blue Shield and I would never willingly choose the former.

A friend of mine pays $600 a month for Medicare + supplement + gap but pays absolutely nothing when she needs the care. That’s not a terrible deal.

In a nation of 335 Million the idea that "other options" "can be" "more affordable" for some people in specific situations is hardly a surprise. This isn't an argument against lowering the medicare eligibility age, it's making an obvious observation.
