More elitist BS that hurts the poorest in society, often people of colour and single mothers. The reason GOP want IDs for voting is because they know these same people cannot always afford to get them. People who can't afford IDs can't afford smart phones, either.

I dont think this will ever be a "must". Smartphones are a handi communication tool, but not everyone has one, or wants one... It might become an option, but the paper document will have to remain ...

Why aren’t there QR readers on license plates so registration doesn’t have to be handed out. The military already uses scanners for IDs on bases.
