"you can't sentence minors to life without parole" "ok, we can wait"

Was more about whether a state can have a law that says "you have to sentence this minor to life w/o parole." Now, they get the choice to hand that down or not. Plus, in a trial, they have to consider the factors at the time of the crime. He's always 14 in a trial for that crime.

After reading what he did I can't really argue with the judge. That's not something you can say a kid can grow out of. I understand he had a tough childhood but some scars, physical and emotional, persist.

So, just sentence him to death, then. If prison's purpose is rehabilitation, and we're determining that it's not possible, then what are we doing?

I'm not clicking any more of these. I can't read the stories AP, your giant pop up picture box keeps covering them up and I can't close it for some reason.

I struggle with this. His crime is so gruesome. But Given his age, history of abuse, and suicide attempts I can’t help but think he deserves rehabilitation at some point and not just punishment.

I’m comfortable with him not breathing the same air my family is.
