Oh boy. Lawmakers can barely use a computer want to update security. Ok then.

HOW has this not already been done? This is unconscionable, deflecting part of the blame it caused on its customers. This is akin to allowing personal info to be leaked to the public and Microsoft must make it right on its own dime, not taxpayers and not future customers.
-
They’re both rich and smart enough to fix this, create FREE updates, require multi-factor authorization, make the patch retroactive to work on any past (meaning old) MS versions including non-PCs also running older systems. And that’s just a start. Can you tell I’m furious? Good.

News orgs continue to report by lumping both the INITIAL INTRUSION of SolarWinds Vs Once They Were In, attack of SolarWinds customers. 2 DIFFERENT THINGS. The initial intrusion caused by weak security policy at SolarWinds, not sophisticated intrusion. IT reporting very poor

Microsoft must change default server installs settings to enable lockout policy. Putting aside Solarwinds sloppy specific vulnerability, Microsoft is pretty good at urgently providing OS patching when threat identified, problem is network managers don't apply updates routinely.
-
And problem is using network management software like Solarwinds. Depending upon network management software to do each server's OS patches demonstrates gov't & big biz customers lack of staffing skilled IT people. Some things should always have human workflow like OS patching
