Why was UN Security Council quick to ratify military action against Gadaffi in Libya and slow to do anything to Myanmar despite civilians lives being equally at stake?

Nobody really wants to mix it up with Myanmar. Anyone who has a memory of doing something similar in North Vietnam knows what I’m talking about. Browsing Afghan history is also a good reference point when ideas of shoving around small countries come up. Ask the Brits & Russians.

But this time, if the west or UN forces went in, the vast majority of the population would welcome them. This was not the case in Afghan or Vietnam. The trouble is China getting in the way.

PRETTY HARD O BELIEVE THAT THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY HAS NOT TAKEN ACTION AGAINST THE MILITARY COUP OF MYANMAR. THE CIVILIANS HAVE BEEN BEGGING FOR HELP TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY. WHILE OVER 500 INNOCENT MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN HAVE BEEN KILLED.
