I imagine that those fortunate ones are those well off enough to have plenty of disposable income, whose usual forms of spending it such as dining out, movies, and casual shopping for non-necessities disappeared during the pandemic.

My family has been very fortunate. Nobody lost their job, I think it helped that we're both in crucial positions with our employers and neither position has unnecessary 'redundancy'. i.e. we're part of 'lean' teams.
